Protects sofas, loveseats, and chairs from spills, stains, dirt, grime, wear and tear
It’s nearly perfect for our set of custom modern wing back chairs in the formal living room, not recliners… The color is almost perfect, it’s close enough though. It looks more aqua in the online photos, which would have been perfect. It’s still an aqua-ish blue so it’s still works, but it’s a bit dark compared to the aqua cover on the sofa. Color is important.I have waterproof covers on most of our furniture because one of our cats has a lot of anxiety, and another one uses peeing on things as a message to tell me everything from he’s hungry, wants to play or he’s just in a bad mood. Soooooo I have a lot of experience with furniture covers. This (and the second one I just ordered) are replacing washable pads and non-waterproof covers because I couldn’t find the right color. I like that these are thin and flexible, my other ones are heavy and stiff. News flash for everyone saying it’s hot, I’ve seen this recurring theme across a lot of products like this. All waterproof covers are hot because of the non permeable layer, regardless how close it is to the surface fabric or not. THEY ALL ARE, it’s just how it works if you want truly waterproof protection.I didn’t need the straps to secure it so I can’t comment on those, I simply tucked them and the excess fabric in. The foot rest elastic strap, I wish had a button adjustment like the top straps do so it could be undone if I wanted to leave the flap out. I’ll need to cut that strap off if I wanted to leave the footrest flap out. For now I simply tucked it in under the seat cushion. Also, the foot rest flap seems like it would be really short for a recliner foot rest, because it sits in a nice spot on our chairs. This makes the chairs more comfortable without two extra layers on the cushion like I had before. For me, it’s nearly perfect and have already ordered a second one.
I ordered this cover because I now have a puppy who loves to join me when I sit in my recliner.I was looking for something waterproof because she licks everything & occasionally throws up.I'm disappointed with this cover for a few reasons:* One of the straps that hold the cover in place on the upper portion of the recliner was installed inside out, making me have to remove the cover from the chair in order to adjust the length.* The strap that holds the cover in place on the leg rest is entirely too short, which makes my chair look like it has a wedgie!Dimensions say for 21"-23", and my recliner is 21" across at that point.Problem is, the designer forgot to include room for the hardware underneath that raises & lowers the leg rest, which adds several inches to the length requirements of the strap.* The cover is indeed waterproof, but unfortunately this makes it hot to sit on--every time I get up my shirt is stuck to my back from sweating.A better design would include a thicker/quilted BREATHABLE top layer on top of the impermeable underside.
I have a large recliner so my review is based on it not fitting right. The footrest part is too small to fit on my chair. This cover is pretty comfortable to sit on. It seems to be well made and is very easy to install. If you have a standard size recliner I suspect you will be happy with it. I do intend to continue using this even though it doesn't fit quite right!
